YueMei Elementary School in Keelung City is located in a remote area. Due to inconvenient transportation and the impact of a declining birthrate, the school faced the risk of closure in 2011. Upon learning about this challenge, Ms. Hsueh-Ni Tsai, the Chairman of the Kon Wen Cultural Foundation, dedicated herself to supporting education and caring for children by introducing the KUMON mathematics program at Yue-Mei Elementary School. The foundation provided comprehensive teaching materials and professional training to help students overcome their learning difficulties.
/
Following the program's implementation, students demonstrated significant improvements in focus and logical thinking. They corrected ineffective or incorrect learning habits and even developed the ability to study independently, striving to advance beyond their current academic level.
/
By the end of the project, 71.5% of students had progressed beyond their grade level, mastering more advanced material. Among them, 39.6% advanced by one academic year, 19.8% by two years, 11% by three years, and 1.1% even exceeded their grade level by five years.
/
It is believed that students who have experienced the KUMON method will continue to pursue excellence, surpass their own expectations, and grow into outstanding individuals who contribute back to society.
