The sports program at ZhongXiao Junior High School is well known for its baseball team. Due to their rigorous training and competition schedules, students often struggled to balance academics and sports. Through an initiative by the Kaohsiung City Education Bureau, the foundation introduced KUMON materials to the school’s sports class in September 2019, assisting 24 seventh-grade students.

Throughout their studies, students maintained a habit of completing their workbooks, regardless of travel for competitions or disruptions caused by the pandemic. Parents and coaches actively supported them in their academic learning.

By the end of the program, 90% of the students reached a proficiency level appropriate for junior high school. Their performance in the 2022 national exam was notably better than that of previous sports class students.

In terms of character development, students learned to focus on their studies and cultivated habits such as greeting others, helping peers, and reminding each other about responsibilities.

Encouraged by these positive results, the Kaohsiung City Education Bureau and Zhongxiao Junior High School renewed their contract with the foundation in 2023, aiming to extend the benefits to more students.
