This workshop features live storytelling by professional instructors, integrating interactive games and craft activities to introduce children to picture books and enhance their enthusiasm for reading. Parents will also experience shared reading firsthand, encouraging them to develop a habit of reading with their children.

By refining their techniques, participants will be able to captivate young audiences and introduce them to the joy of reading.

2023 SDGs Picture Book Tour

The goal of this storytelling activity is to introduce children to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through picture books focused on topics such as climate change, sustainable energy, environmental conservation, and gender equality. With the guidance of teachers, children will immerse themselves in the imagery and engaging text of the stories, creating an opportunity to learn about the SDGs while enjoying picture book tales.

This event combines reading, city tours, and craft activities to help parent-child pairs understand the historical stories of the city through picture books. Participants will visit historical buildings and experience local culture through professional tours and craft activities, blending reading with life experiences to appreciate the city's beauty.

Led by professional instructors, this workshop encourages children who have participated in sustainable reading activities to further engage with reading and discussions. Children in lower and middle elementary grades will analyze and read picture books, engage in interactive games, and participate in creative activities. Finally, instructors will guide the children to present their work, showcasing their actions for the future.

• Parenting Lecture: Penghu Reading Promotion Plan

Through expert lectures and community storytelling activities, in collaboration with the Foundation and local resources, the goal is to promote the concept of reading, foster the atmosphere of parent-child reading, and broaden both parents' and children's reading horizons by introducing diverse picture books. This will allow reading education to take root in the community.
